George
Franks - Trustee: Franks, Swindles & Gentry
George
Franks is a solicitor and partner in the firm: Franks, Swindles & Gentry. George was a friend of John Storm's deceased uncle: Professor Douglas Storm, and a friend of the family. He is trusted to administer the estate of his late friend, with some rather unusual clauses as to assisting John, if he takes up a challenge his uncle has set him.
John did take up the challenge, making George more than just a legal eagle. He becomes a mentor and advisor to the ocean
adventurer, taking up the challenge with relish.
Professor Douglas Storm became legally declared dead at the age of ninety, where he has been missing for a number of years, and is said to have died in an 'accident' while involved in the testing of a top-secret and very high speed underwater craft. But the circumstances were never fully investigated or explained, and the mini-sub was never recovered.
Later, Zheng
Ling is arrested for the murder of Professor Storm, based on planted USB
evidence, which appears to have been fabricated by another agency.
George Franks is keen to get to the bottom of that matter, suspecting foul play. He does not believe in coincidences, where Professor Storm was a thorn in the side of many
a government administration from his human rights work - so had many enemies in high places.
This
belief, tends to be borne out by the CIA's interest in the AI onboard the
Elizabeth Swann. Which, gets even more bizarre when they kidnap Cleopatra.
Goerge is determined to solve the mystery surrounding the disappearance of
his old friend. He keeps an open book on the subject, always on the lookout
for clues.
George
has an office wherein there is a round table, surrounded by his collection
of armour, from the knights of old. He believes that the age of chivalry is
not dead, and that John is a modern day Knight
of the Round Table, or Knights
Templar. For sure, John's expertise with DNA
identification and computer manipulation would have qualified him as a
member of the Illuminati.
George Franks is a fictional character in the John Storm 'inner-space' adventure
series. He is one of the mainstay supporting characters in this Treasure Island story.

Only gold,
silver and gemstones were worth anything to captains of old. The currency
was easy to trade and did not corrode, so ideal to be secreted in the most
inhospitable environments. Paper money is worthless, when the value can rise
and fall, without anything tangible to back the promises written thereon. In
the modern world, with rampant inflation and cost of living crises, we'd
have to agree with the pirates.
