Doctor
Roberta Treadstone is an antiquities expert working for The
Blue Shield, an international organization reporting to UNESCO,
aimed at protecting cultural heritage treasures from theft and damage.
She
is stationed in England at Newcastle University. But is also a field worker
with some experience on digs, salvage and operations in dangerous war zones.
She
sometime feeds from the hunches of Charley Temple, and they have developed a
working relationship based on mutual trust, where Charley and Roberta share
similar goals, very much in tune with Blue Shield objectives.
Working
like this, John Storm was able to survey the sunken city of Alexandria,
eventually leading him to rescue Cleopatra.
Roberta
is a close confident of Professor Jacques Pierre Daccord,
Oceanographic Commission, in Paris, France. Together, and working with other
agencies, including MI6 and the CIA, they identify sites that might interest
terrorists and treasure hunters.
Dr.
Treadstone is unaware of the extraordinary skills of John
Storm, other than his expertise as a diver and archaeological knowledge.
Which is why Blue
Shield call on the ocean adventurer from time to time - where he gets
the job done. Dr Treadstone knows of the Elizabeth
Swann, because of the detailed surveys the AI
ship produces, under the captaincy of John Storm.
